Historical information
Wunderlich Ltd was a significant employer in its Sunshine Asbestos sheet, and its Architectural Terra Cotta factories on McIntyre Road, North Sunshine (now the Westend Hotel and previously the Westend Market). The Wunderlich Terra Cotta factory in Sunshine made colour glazed terra cotta tiles for the outside walls of buildings such as the Commonwealth Buildings in Spring St Melbourne, and the Court Building in the City. The Sunshine factory also initially made the glaze for use on the terra cotta roof tiles made at the Mitcham factory.
