Historical information
This trophy was one by Rupert J. Rowe who was the foundation vice-captain of the Sunshine Harvester Works Golf Club.
Rupert won the trophy in 1940, a year when World War II was getting underway. He knew Mr. Youngman's trophy would be a very expensive one and he asked that the value of the trophy be donated to patriotic funds.
The donation was made, and the club decided to mount the winning ball on a blackwood timber base, which matched the timber of his furniture on his home.
This was presented to him, and he was immensely proud of the trophy made by the Harvester Works.
