The Australian Natives' Association was established in Melbourne in 1871 as a non-partisan and non-sectarian friendly society for Australian-born, white men seeking to shape Australia's nationhood and identity.

Physical description

A framed certificate behind glass. the certificate is surrounded by a brown matt with light brown bead and a dark brown wooden frame. The certificate has white and green border, green and yellow floral drawings and numerous Australian images. AUSTRALIAN NATIVES' ASSOCIATION printed at top under that there is a lady in a full-length blue gown holding a red Australian flag and a piece of paper with CONSTITUTION OF THE AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH written on it. There is a man dressed like an early settler. Between them printed in a white circle - BENDIGO BRANCH No 5 EX-PRESIDENT'S CERTIICATE this is to certify that F. G. Griffiths occupied the position of President of this branch from 1st June, 1935 to 30th November, 1935
