It provides a thorough and interesting history of nursing and daily lives and experiences of nurses both serving overseas in the Second World War and in the Melbourne hospitals in the years that followed.

Handwritten letter in blue ink with a letterhead printed in black across the top that reads E. Mervyn Harris. The letter is attached to backing card. Beneath the letter are 21 pages of photocopied typed transcript with hole-punch marks on the left side.
