A personal account of Sir Lindesay Clark, mining engineer. Clark records his early association with Gold Mines of Australia Limited and the formation of Western Mining Corporation Limited. He was appointed WMC's first Technical Managing Director. After WW2 Lindesay led the re-establishment and expansion of gold mining operations within the WMC-GMA Group at centers such as Kalgoorlie, Norseman, Reedy's, Coolgardie and Bullfinch in Western Australia, and Woods Point and Newstead in Victoria. In 1952 Lindesay became chairman of WMC. Lindesay had first-hand knowledge of working conditions below ground and living conditions above.

Cover of book is black with 'WMC' embossed into centre. Title is written in yellow and gold text. Several black and white photos in centre on book. Has index. 258 pp.
