Summary

Mason Trask, a successful novalist, had always avoided violence. It took murder to make him seek it out. A crazed policeman had gone down into the Times Square subway station and shot and killed four men engrossed in an early morning crap game. The policeman, who did not live long after he reached the street, was Mason Trask's brother.
