Photo shows the SECV Bendigo tower truck or overhead maintenance truck in High St, Charing Cross working on the overhead. The driver is lounging on the front mudguard. In the background is the Lyric Theatre and a service station. The theatre is advertising the film "The King and I" which was released in 1956. The theatre was destroyed by fire in 1968. Next door is Frank A Hill's "Horse Bazaar" and L Macpherson & Co's Throughway parking and service station. Both buildings have since been demolished and now part of the Bendigo Bank's complex.
