Photographs and a news article regarding the 130th Australian General Hospital in Eta Jima, Japan. The photographs depict nurses and soldiers of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) that served at the 130 AGH. There are public relations photographs and images of staff housing and living conditions, as well as celebration dinners, a wedding, and a mass.
The article is written about Dr. John Prior, a volunteer for the Army Medical Service who went on to become the Surgeon Officer commanding the Surgical Division of the BCOF in Kure, Japan.
Physical description
Light pink photograph album with feint, thin red stripes running vertically down the cover. The red spine continues an inch inwards on the left edge. The word 'Album' is repeated continuously around the top and bottom of the cover (in red text across the pink background and white text across the red spine). A black and white postcard image of a building has been taped on the front with the text 'Malaya 1955-1956' handwritten below in blue pen ink. The pages inside are spiral bound, self-adhesive card with plastic protector sheet overlaying each page. Only the first half of the album is full, it contains black and white photographs and a photocopy of a news clipping.
