Historical information
The printed page was used to record where the apples were to be sent, the count, variety and the grade. This would have allowed the delivery people and the receiver of the apples where they were from, amount, variety of apple and the grade of the fruit. Fruit has been grown in Maiden Gully but eventually the growing of apples was discontinued. The Phillips family bought a 40-acre apple orchard in 1975 which was in Schumacker's Lane. This is possibly the site from which this label originated. The street address is printed 'Shoemakers Lane'.
