Historical information
Waverley House as others have said was in Barkes Avenue and comprised of three houses which now are the old Telecom site and Lakes Hire (ex RSL) Amy and Alf Carstairs ran it as a guest house. After Amy died they were converted to flats and then gradually sold off by the family. Funny story from Rob Davis - when Telecom wanted to buy there, his parents suggested a price and whoever was handling the purchase said too cheap so the price was raised! Different times.
