Photograph shows three boilers with firing holes, ash grates, and steam receivers in round barrels at the top of the complex. Twelve men in suits are standing around or on the equipment platforms. Has Photo by "Darge" Photos, 175 Collins St Melbourne, printed on the bottom right hand corner. See item 2304 for photos of NMETL Power station.

Significance

Yields information about the interior of a power station boiler room, possibly given the photographer, that of Essendon or NMETL. Photo possibly taken at the time of the handover to the MMTB /SECV or when the plant was shut down during the 1920s.
