Historical information

The photo shows a group of some 64 men, 3 ladies and four young men or boys in front of three tramcars at the NMETL Ascot Vale or Essendon depot, possibly just before the take over by the MMTB on 1/8/1922. The Manager Mr Murdoch is in the middle of the three men between the ladies. All are wearing "Sunday Best" clothes. The three trams have the destinations of "M River" or "K Keilor"

Significance

Yields information about the Essendon depot staff of the NMETL around the time of the take over by the MMTB.
