Historical information
Built in 1929 by Austral Otis Ltd, this rail grinder was employed to removed corrugations from rails and smooth irregularities in new and newly processed rails. Originally painted in olive green, it was changed to zebra stripes in 1960, then scrapped in 1971. This looks like an official M&MTB photograph.
