Historical information
The first Bendigo Easter Fair was in 1871 and from its outset the Chinese community of Bendigo was involved. The Fair has evolved into a 3-4 day event with several parades including the current Chinese Dragon Dai Gum Loong. The fair has many events that cater to all tastes and interests from art shows to antique sales to easter egg hunts.
The fair aimed to raise money for the Bendigo Hospital and the Benevolent Asylum and still continues to donate amounts to charity.
