Historical information
The booklet was produced to record the names of the early white settlers to the colony of Victoria who presented a loyal address to the visiting Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh in 1867.
Prince Alfred was the second son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and joined the Royal Navy where he served for many years. He married Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia. He later succeeded his uncle as Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.
