The markings "juni k 9 1918 119A sp255 h" on the base of this brass shell casing indicates it is a German World War I 37mm Maxim Flak (automatic cannon) or Revolverkanone casing manufactured in June 1918. A case length of 94 mm was the global standard for the 37mm Maxim automatic cannon often called the "Pom-Pom" gun due to the rhythmic puffing sound it made when firing. Item has no known provenance.
