Physical description
A bottle green, woollen tramways Great Coat manufactured by David Klein Pty. Ltd, of 22 Patrick St., South Melbourne (Ph 323771)
The coat is trimmed at the lower sleeve edges and pocket edges with black leather strips which are completed with half circles of leather to strengthen the opening of the pockets. Both coat fronts are fully lined, and the back is lined to the waist. The coat is buttoned to the neck with five standard State Electricity Commission of Victoria metal buttons with the shield and lettering embossed and raised on each. There are two additional buttons positioned to the side of the lapels. Three of the buttons are secured on the under side with small, metal split rings. The back of the coat features a waist band, and a lower box pleat for ease of movement.
Inscriptions & markings
The makers label positioned on the inner lining of the LH front, is labelled "L. MCMAHON S.E.C. B/RAT No 23 - O/N D.I 104083"
