Paper prepared by Major General R J H Risson, as President of The Institution of Engineers Australia, titled "Moving People (Urban Public Transport)" in June 1963 issue of the Institutions Jounal. Front cover features a photo taken from Young & Jacksons of a view looking south along St Kilda Road, with many trams in the view, led by L class 103. Gives an introduction to street transport, continued need for public transport, vehicle choice, traffic congestion, has notes on stagered working hours, fares, rostering and computers, traffic control, overseas comparisons, with mention of subways. Has a large graph of Costs versus Fares from 1939 to 1969 looking at wages, basic wage, operating expenses and average fare per mile.
