Historical information

Photograph shows W class tram No. 364 built as the "Prototype" for the W1 class. Destination City 5th edition page 25 advises "W class 364 was completed in 1925 with an open drop centre and longitudinal seats fixed facing outwards." It was renumbered during 1927 to 422 as a W1 class tram to fit in with the series of W1 class trams. The tram was built originally at the Holden St workshops.
