Camel trains (also called caravans or camel strings) are organised lines of camels used to carry goods and passengers across long distances. Their importance comes from camels’ ability to survive extreme heat, travel far without water, and carry heavy loads.

Camel trains was the method of carting goods long distances across Australia's harsh climate and roads. They were the forerunner of today's modern truck transport.
