Photo shows the roof of a double-deck horse tram strengthening method using a curved steel bar. This was standard practice in double-deck horse trams and was installed on Ballarat No. 1. The letter from Ken McCarthy to Richard Gilbert, dated 9/1/1986 talks about the rods and the photo taken in 1967 of SAR horse tram of 1879 built by Brown Marshall in Birmingham.
