Used to cancel or punch paper tickets when purchased. Placed lear shaped hole in the ticket. Based on the stamped number, used from Glen Huntly Depot. This type of punch was phased out by the 1990s when conductors were removed from trams. May have been used by the donor or collected by him. Punches a square cross into a ticket.

Demonstrates an item used by the MMTB to cancel tickets. Would have been issued to a conductor at Glen Huntly Depot.
Physical description
Brass cast, machined, ticket punch, spring loaded, consists of two main parts with a pin & spring from coiled wire and fitted with formed wire retaining hole fitted to one of the arms. Item stamped "G144"
