Summary

Ken Francine had stayed in the boxing world even after he had given up his career in the ring. He had come to Paris as the agent of a syndicate and he was to line up promising European fighters ... or so he thought, for he soon found out in his first meeting with his contact man in Paris that he was really intended to be a courier ... for heroin! Ken had been involved in many shady deals but he drew the line at this latest proposition and found himself in Paris with only a few dollars in his pocket and no way of getting back to the States. Luck was on his side however as, while wandering around the Left Bank, he met Bud Stewart, the Negro boxer who had put paid to Ken's championship prospects. From this chance meeting Ken turned to managing Stewart and soon found himself back in the chips, but back also in the underworld politics of boxing which he found to be equally as crooked and vicious in Paris as it had been in New York.
