Photograph, View of Bacchus Marsh looking east from Stamford Hill. Circa 1900s

Historical information

This view of Bacchus Marsh is undated. It may have been taken around the 1900s. A house on the left of the picture with a side and back chimney is probably the cottage known as 'Parkside' at 82 Main Street Bacchus Marsh. This house is known to have existed prior to the 1890s. A substantial house on the right of the picture which has a large front verandah may the the house known as 'Pentland', which was built in 1892 for Shire Engineer and Secretary David Little. Its location is 85-87 Main Street. The image appears to have been taken from a location close to the present day Lidgett Street and Main Street intersection.
