Historical information
Jack Lockett was one of many people that farmed in the Wimmera and Mallee during the early part of the twentieth century.
The poem 'Our Pioneers' is a tribute to these people that built farms and towns in this often dry and forbidding country.
The photograph is of one of these pioneers, Jack Lockett, who survived World War 1, and returned to the country to farm.
