The identity of the owner of the purse is unknown. The two visiting cards carrying the name 'Miss Brennan', a resident of the George Hotel, indicate that this was the owner. The date of the postal receipt indicates that the purse was used during the early 1900s. The photographs appear to have been taken in the 1880s or 1890s.

Physical description

Small dark coloured leather purse of concertina-type construction that provides four compartments. Metal press button type clamp. Contains personal items: two small portrait photographs, postal receipt for registered letter sent, business card with printed and hand written details, two visiting cards with hand written details on lightweight cardboard, three wire hair pins.
