Historical information
In October, 2004, Bendigo Mining received Victorian government approval to start constructing the first stage of its historic Bendigo Goldfield redevelopment.
The Victorian government approved the expansion of the company's Carshalton mine site from where the first stage of gold production is planned to commence.
Bendigo Mining managing director, Doug Buerger said the approvals program was on track with only the Federal Department of Environment and Heritage approval pending for the site expansion.
Mr Buerger said the approval would allow the mine to expand its operations and put infrastructure in place to move into commercial gold production.
He said the green light from the Victorian Government capped off a successful year for Bendigo Mining in which the feasibility study was completed and the company raised $115 million to go into production. ( Sydney Morning Herald, October 23, 2004)
