A postcard produced from a Victorian Railways aerial photo shows the CBD from the southwest during 1939. The Yarra River and associated docks. The caption on the rear notes that the SS Taroona is berthed at No. 1 berth, North Wharf. The Railway viaduct and the Fish market buildings are in the view along with St Kilda/Port Melbourne railway bridge and the Queen and Spencer St bridges. There is one tram on approach to the Spencer St bridge. Both the National Bank - Western Branch is nearing completion and Royal Insurance Building is under early construction in Collins Street.
