The Heart in Hand is a symbol used by the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. It refers to the help which an Odd Fellow gives to a brother in need, and the spirit in which help is to be given.

Physical description

Six wooden hands in flat stretched position, the wood on the outer surface of the hand being of double thickness. Red wooden heart stuck to the palm of the hand. Colouring of the outside surface is a dark reddish brown; the inside surface brown ochre with a dark red heart. Metal screw at base of hand.
