Historical information
Jack Lockett was born to his single mother Mary Elizabeth Lockett in 1891. He lived with his mother and grandparents at Waanyarra. Later on, Elizabeth married Robert Burstall.
Jack went to work for a farmer at age thirteen and eventually went on to farm land in the Mallee with two of his uncles.
After serving in World War 1 Jack Lockett married and raised four children on the family farm at Linga.
