Summary

Ixion in heaven is a retelling of the ancient Greek tale of Ixion, King of Thessaly. For his unconscionable behaviour Ixion is shunned by all on Earth, but Jupiter pities him and invites him to live in heaven, where he also creates chaos.
The novel is a political satire in which Mount Olympus represents British society and government. It mocks the class structures and empty lives of the ruling classes.
Count Alarcos is a verse drama set in medieval Spain, in which Count Alarcos murders his wife in order to survive politically.
