Florence Emily Myrtle WALE (known as Myrtle or Mary) was offered a free place at Melbourne University to study for a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1932. Already teaching at Middle Park Primary School as a junior teacher, she also attended the George Taylor and Staff, university coaching business who were located at 243 Collins Street.
