Historical information

Album of photographs taken in the Middle East in 1917. The collection begins with images of the ship 'Wiltshire' leaving from Sydney and then on to Colombo. There are photos of local points of interest and local people in Colombo, Cairo, Alexandria and Lower Jordan. The album also contains images relating to the 19th and 17th British General Hospitals, their nurses, patients, V.A.D.'s and residences.

According to the inscription on the cover, the album belonged to Dorothy White. Dorothy was staying at Rhedural Hotel in Alexandria in 1917.
