Article in 'Aviation Safety Digest; titled ' One More to Make Three' (pages 12 to 17) discusses an aeroplane crash that occurred at the opening of the new Bendigo Airfield. A Mustang flew from its home field, Moorabbin, to Bendigo to complete some low runs over the field. The gravel runway was too short for the 'plane, so it was planned to return to Moorabbin field. The accident occurred following the arplane's third and final run over the airport, when it fell in a tight, descending spiral and hit the ground some two miles north-east of the airport. The accident occurred on Sunday 15th. February 1970.
