Booklet and letter sent to next-of-kin of deceased Australian Servicemen [and women?] at some point after WWII to inform them of how the war graves & cemeteries around the world were being cared for by the Imperial War Graves Commission. There would have been a photograph of the grave of the deceased person included in a pocket inside the back cover of the booklet, this is no longer present. Letter is signed by A E Brown Secretary-General of the Anzac Agency of the Imperial War Graves Commission. There is also a message from R[obert] G[ordon] Menzies, then Australian Prime Minister.

Physical description

Black and white booklet containing photographs and text. Cover image is of a large stone cross atop a multi-tiered base, with an embossed sword shaped cross on its face. The memorial is on a lawn with shrubs and dense trees in the background. It is known as the Cross of Sacrifice. Inside the booklet there is an accompanying letter.
