Henry Martin WHATTY grew up in Port Melbourne during the 1870s and 1880s. He loved boats and boating and many of his photographs reflect his nautical interests.
Physical description
Digital copy of a B&W photograph of a Swallow & Ariell decorated cart at the corner of Rouse and Stokes Streets. There are several people in costumes riding on the cart. The cart has a board at the top promoting Digestive Meal and the side reads "SWALLOW & ARIELL'S / UNEEDA BISCUITS / ARE / INDEED A TREAT". There are several people standing in the intersection observing the cart.
