Historical information
Henry Martin WHATTY grew up in Port Melbourne during the 1870s and 1880s. He loved boats and boating and many of his photographs reflect his nautical interests.
Physical description
Digital copy of a B&W photograph of two decorated Swallow & Ariell carts proceeding down Stokes Streets. The front cart is the same one in Cat No 4146.05. It is followed by a second cart, smaller with less decoration. Several men and youths are following the second cart.
