Historical information
Tram 17 was built in 1915 by Meadowbank Manufacturing Co. Sydney for Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust. It came to Ballarat in 1931. When Ballarat trams stopped running in 1971 it went to the Tramway Museum Society of Victoria.
The photograph shows the tram travelling along Wendouree Parade, heading towards the Gardens. It is near near St Aidan"s Drive. In the background is the church on the corner of Forest Street, near the Ballarat Grammar School boat shed and a view across the lake. Photo taken on 11 August 1971 by Campbell Duncan.
