The City of Brimbank Council hosts annual NAIDOC Week celebrations honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. These events form a major part of Brimbank’s commitment to recognising Traditional Custodians and strengthening community understanding.
The 2026 National Theme was "Fifty Years of Deadly".
Significance
Australia's NAIDOC Week exists to celebrate, recognise, and honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is one of the most important national observances for First Nations recognition.
The main purpose of Australia's NAIDOC Week is to:
