Historical information

This is a Sesquicentenary publication of Catherine McAuley College, Bendigo. McAuley College was established by the Sisters of Mercy who arrived in Sandhurst from Ireland in 1876.
In 2018, four years after Mercy Education Limited assumed sole governance of the College, Catholic College Bendigo changed to Catherine McAuley College. In 2019 McAuley Property Limited pucharsed the campus of what was formerly St Vincent's College and later, La Valla College at Junortoun. During this tumultuous time, the College returned to the Mercy Charism, our association with our foundress, the Venerable Catherine McAuley returned, and most importantly, so too did the Religious Sisters of Mercy (RSM).
