This postcard shows a cable tram and horse drawn vehicle, many pedestrians on the footpaths and roadway, buildings with gothic style facades and the Town Hall in the distance. In the years before telephones, there were two postal deliveries each working day and postcards were a cheap and preferred method of communicating simple messages to friends and family around Melbourne.
