Historical information
This tram was built in 1918 by Duncan and Fraser of Adelaide for Hawthorn Tramway Trust, Melbourne. It was their Tram 31. Came to Ballarat in 1947 and numbered 34. It ran until the closure of the trams in October 1971. It then went to the Australian Electric Transport Museum, Adelaide, South Australia, and classified as operable.
The photograph shows Tram 34 in Wendouree Parade near Haddon Street. On left is a yellow sign warning of oncoming trams. This was the fourth tram out of the depot on its way to the city via Wendouree Parade.
