Historical information
The St. Albans East Primary School opened in February 1956 at 25 McArthur Avenue, St Albans East with six classrooms.
The school was opened to relieve pressure on St. Albans Primary School (1889) and to meet the demand from the explosive post‑war population boom and Housing Commission development.
During this period St. Albans transform from a semi‑rural fringe into a major migrant suburb. St. Albans East was one of several new schools built to accommodate the surge.
A major milestone was the creation of the Deaf Facility in 2001, and has since become one of the school’s defining specialist programs.
