Historical information
Tram 42 was built in 1914 by Duncan and Fraser for the Prahran and Malvern Tramway Trust. It transferred to Geelong in 1951 and became Tram 37. It came to Ballarat in 1956 and numbered 42. It was part of the Ballarat Fleet until the closure of the tram service in 1971.
The photograph shows Tram 42 travelling from Sebastopol, turning into Drummond Street from Skipton Street. Shell Service Station on left of photo. Drycleaners and Motor Cycle dealers on right side.
