Historical information
Ballarat Tram 39 was built in 1914 by Duncan and Fraser Adelaide for the Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust where it was number 42. It was sold to the State Electricity Commission in 1951 and renumbered as Ballarat Tram 39. When the trams stopped running in 1971, it was acquired by Lismore Lions Club and displayed in a recreational reserve until purchased by the Museum in 1976. It was converted into a museum display and souvenir centre located at the depot until 2022. (See Item 10755 for return of 39 to Ballarat)
