Historical information
Citation for Miss Betty Constance Lawson, awarded the Florence Nightingale Medal in its 21st year on July 28 1967. The ceremony took place at the Headquarters for the Australian Red Cross.
It is noted that as well as being a returned army nurse (serving in the South West Pacific area 1940-1945), Miss Lawson was an active member of the Victorian Nursing Council, Hospital Matrons Association Victoria, Mental Hygiene Authority Victoria, Centaur War Nurses Memorial Trust, Florence Nightingale Committee, and the Royal Victorian College of Nursing (vice president).
