Historical information

Photo shows ex MMTB 117 in lower Sturt St shortly after its arrival in Ballarat. The tram still has its wartime white bumper bars and other markings pending being repainted. The tram was numbered Ballarat 22 and later became the first tram 37. In the background are Rockmans, Teapot Cafe, Union Hotel, a Tarax Bar, and the Ballaarat Gas Co. buildings. Significance

Yields information about the appearance of ex Melbourne 117 on its use in Ballarat prior to being repainted and renumbered to No. 22.
