Historical information
The first trams in Bendigo were battery-operated and started running in June 1890. These were replaced when the electric network opened in 1903 with a fleet of twelve trams manufactured by Duncan and Fraser of Adelaide. Bendigo Tramways ceased operating in 1972 after 82 years.
