The photo shows Ballarat tram 42 stopped at the City Tram stop - Sturt and Lydiard Sts bound for Mt Pleasant. In the background are the Ballarat Mechanics Institute and the Commonwealth Bank. The tram has reflective triangles, which indicate the photo was taken in the mid-to-late 1950s. Very similar photo to item 9352. There is a lady waiting on the seats and possibly a uniformed employee in the background as well.
Significance
Yields information about an ex Geelong tram in service at the City Tram Stop mid to late 1950s.
