The Nurses Board was established in 1924 and became responsible for the registration and regulation of general nursing. Joan D'Arcy completed her nursing training at St Vincents Hospital Melbourne in 1947.

The numbered Nurses Board Certificate is printed in script writing with a black art deco type border.
